Homage To Cartier-Bresson by John Polich

Cartier-Bresson inspired me, among the millions of imitators, but none had his eye and wit and timing. In retrospect, "decisive moment" is inadequate to describe his art. Below my photograph, a modest tribute, barely evokes Henri Cartier-Bresson's masterful ability to juxtapose icons and reveal humanity.

JOHN POLICH

Polich was research director of The New York Times and marketing director for its regional newspaper group. He reported for media in Phoenix, San Antonio and Detroit and was managing director of national opinion research companies. A Stanford Ph.D. and Cronkite School graduate, Polich taught at Franklin College Switzerland, The New School, the American University in Bulgaria, Fordham, and Golden Gate University, where he was dean of MBA and executive programs. He completed journalism projects in China, Japan, Korea & Russia, lived in Bulgaria, England, Libya, and Switzerland and has been active in support of emergency services in the United States.
